The annual St. George's Day Run will take place this year on Saturday, 24th April.
This classic car run will celebrate all vehicles built before 1985.
There will also be a section for vehicles of special interest that are newer than 1985,
so feel free to bring out that 2001 Ferrari!
We can now announce the three routes we will be using this year:
Route 1:
Starts at The Museum of Army Flying near Andover (where you can see
some historic warbirds) then moves on to
The Watercress Line
at Alresford, home of some lovely steam engines, for our mid-morning stop.
Then on to Brooklands.
Route 2:
Starts at Silverstone and then to the
Buckinghamshire Railway Centre
for a mid morning coffee and look at their rolling stock, then to
Brooklands.
Route 3:
Starts at Denbies Winery near Dorking, Surrey, where visitors can
see how a vineyard works. A trip south to see the steam engines of
The Watercress Line
and then journey to Brooklands.
All routes conclude at
Brooklands Museum
in Weybridge, Surrey by lunchtime; leaving ample time to view the exhibits and buildings of the Museum.
This entry fee provides admittance to the venues including the
Brooklands Track and Museum,
a Rally Plate and a detailed souvenir Road Book outlining your route and places of interest.
The start time for each run will be 10 o'clock,
with the mid-morning stop at around 11 o'clock.
We envisage a 30 or 45 minute break, then head off for Brooklands. Departure points, timings & routes are subject to change.
